Shaw’s and Star Market in Hyannis, MA seeks a skilled Refrigeration Technician to monitor and repair building systems, including refrigeration, HVAC, EMS, and electrical equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and document solutions to keep operations safe and efficient.

The role requires EPA 608 certification, a valid driver’s license, strong communication, and the ability to work independently and on-call.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication about technical topics.
• Willing to work overtime on weekends, holidays, and on-call.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational-technical programs preferred.
• Accurate and careful work to avoid mechanical failures.
• Able to read manuals, prints, and work orders.
• Computer-literate and proficient with web-based work orders.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks on equipment in the Mechanical Room, Roof, HVAC, EMS systems, refrigerated cases, and walk-ins.
• Maintain refrigeration, HVAC, EMS systems, electrical, and mechanical systems; perform repairs as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, leak checks, inspections, and new equipment installations; document information.
• Monitor preventive maintenance and coordinate with Area Refrigeration Manager on contractor issues.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical problems and document solutions.
• Operate EMS/BMS controls; fine-tune sequences and adjust set points.
• Order materials and write purchase orders; data entry for work reports and refrigerant leak reports.
• Maintain a neat, safe work area and ensure compliance with codes.
