Job summary

CES Family of Companies is seeking qualified refrigeration technicians in Des Moines, IA to maintain and service commercial systems, including walk-in coolers and freezers. The role requires diagnosing issues, executing repairs, and managing refrigerants per regulations, while delivering strong customer service on each call.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs and climb ladders. EPA Type II or Universal is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting, installation and service of commercial refrigeration.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50-100 lbs and climb ladders up to 24 ft.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain commercial refrigeration systems and equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, perform repairs or replacements to restore functionality.
• Handle refrigerants per federal and state regulations, including recovery and disposal when required.
• Respond to service calls promptly and provide excellent customer service.
• Interact with clients to understand needs and recommend equipment or maintenance services.
• Maintain accurate service records including work orders and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Stay updated on latest technologies, tools and industry practices.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain commercial refrigeration systems and equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in refrigeration equipment, making repairs or replacements as necessary to restore functionality
• Hand and manage refrigerants according to federal and state regulations, including recovery and disposal when required
• Respond to services calls promptly, provide excellent customer service and efficiently resolve issues
• Interact with clients to understand their refrigeration needs and provide recommendations for equipment or maintenance services
• Maintain accurate records of service performed including work orders, parts used and any pertinent details about the systems serviced
• Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations and environmental standards
• Stay updated on the lates technologies, tools and industry practices to enhance skills and knowledge in commercial refrigeration

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record, as this position may require driving a company van to various job sites
• 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting, installation and service of commercial refrigeration
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment common to the trade
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues accurately
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
• Ability to climb a ladder up to 24’
• Ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
• EPA, Refrigeration- Type II or Universal certificate preferred
