Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Conyers, GA, is seeking a Refrigeration Brazer & Copper Piping Technician to lay out, install, and braze copper tubing for refrigeration systems. The role requires basic math, reading safety rules, and the ability to follow detailed instructions.

You will operate shop tools, cut and bend tubing, perform leak checks, and contribute to continuous improvement within a team focused on reliable display equipment and cold-chain integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3–6 months related experience/training.
• Comfort reading safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Math proficiency: add, subtract, multiply, and divide with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Working knowledge of basic algebra and geometry.
• Problem-solver who can navigate practical challenges with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, measure, cut, bend, assemble, and install copper and steel tubing for refrigeration systems.
• Braze copper-to-copper joints using a torch and sound brazing fundamentals.
• Form suction and discharge lines; create quality flares and swages.
• Operate shop equipment including a copper saw and tube bender.
• Pressurize and perform leak checks on completed units.
• Use tools such as tube cutters, hand vise, power benders, files, flaring/swaging tools, and torch.
• Assist with unit layout and setup; contribute to continuous improvement.
• Other duties may be assigned.
