Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking an Assembler II - Refrigeration to fabricate and assemble refrigeration system components per blueprints within a fast-paced production environment. You will mount parts, braze tubing, and ensure proper charging of refrigerants while maintaining safety standards.

  • Assemble electrical wiring circuits and controls as needed.
  • Identify maintenance needs and work at different workstations as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area and use required safety gear.

Job Title: Assembler II - Refrigeration

What we are looking for: Refrigeration is responsible for fabricating and assembling components of refrigeration systems for environmental test equipment according to blueprints or schematic drawings and knowledge of refrigeration systems.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
  • Read and comprehend blueprints or schematic drawings to determine location, size, capacity and type of components, such as compressor, condenser, expansion valves and tubing or piping needed to build equipment
  • Mount compressor, condenser, or other components in specified locations on frame, using hand tools and welding equipment
  • Cut, bend, and braze specified tubing to inlets and outlets of components to form liquid and suction lines of refrigeration systems
  • Adjust valves according to specifications
  • Remove air from system and charges system with specified amount and type of refrigerant
  • May assemble and mount electrical wiring circuits, controls, and recording devices
  • Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing situations
  • Performs any assembly-type function, using hand or power tools
  • Utilize appropriate information given on material gauging and dimensioning
  • Read rulers, tape measurers, metal squares, and other measuring instruments
  • Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or fasteners
  • Identify maintenance needed on equipment and tooling
  • Work at different workstations as production needs require
  • Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
  • Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Frequently – Standing, Walking, Pushing/Pulling, Reaching, Gripping, Pinching, Neck Rotation/Extension and Lift/Carry up to 50lbs
  • Constantly – Foot Use, Visual Acuity (Near/Far) and Lift/Carry up to 10lbs
  • *Occasionally – Occurs up to 1/3 of the time *Frequently – Occurs 1/3 to 2/3 of the time *Constantly – Occurs 2/3 or more of the time

This position is eligible to earn commissions based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable commissions plan.
