Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Carson, CA is seeking an experienced Security Specialist to establish and oversee security strategies, procedures, training, equipment, and access controls across sites and distribution channels. The role requires coordinating with law enforcement and government agencies, and supporting risk assessments.

The position offers on-site schedules (9/80 or 5/40) with on-call duty and core hours from 7 AM to 4 PM.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED plus 8 years of law enforcement, military security, or industrial security experience, or a Bachelor Degree with 4+ years of such experience.
Proficient in protecting property and individuals.
In-depth knowledge of risk assessment processes.
In-depth knowledge of security incident prevention strategies and management.
Proficient in Microsoft 365: Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Establish security strategies, priorities, and critical tasks at sites and along distribution channels, including procedures, training, equipment, visitor and access controls, communications and information sharing.
Manage facility security programs and security personnel per company and facility protocols.
Ensure compliance with applicable security regulations.
Participate in Security Risk/Vulnerability Assessments and implement mitigation measures.
Support Anti-Violence Workplace policies and coordinate with law enforcement and government agencies.
