Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical plant environment, preferably within refining operations.
• Strong understanding of chemical principles relevant to oil refining processes.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques and laboratory instrumentation (e.g., GC, HPLC, spectroscopy).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze chemical processes throughout the refinery, including crude oil distillation, cracking, and treating units.
• Conduct routine and investigative laboratory testing on feedstocks, intermediate streams, and finished products.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance yield, product quality, and energy efficiency.
• Troubleshoot chemical-related operational issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage chemical inventory and coordinate with suppliers for necessary reagents and consumables.
• Prepare technical reports on process performance, analytical results, and optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to support process modifications and new project implementations.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to quality control standards.
