Job summary

HF Sinclair Corporation in Dallas seeks an Operations Research Engineer with deep expertise in refinery LP models, kinetic modeling, and AVEVA USC planning to drive optimization across planning, scheduling and distribution.

You will translate plant data into robust mathematical representations, govern models, and collaborate with Process Engineering, Technical Services and Commercial teams to advance optimization capabilities across the value chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; MBA is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in energy industry.
• Strong leadership, strategic and tactical business acumen.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in spreadsheet, database, and word processing tools.
• Ability to convey complex mathematical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develops and optimizes refinery and distribution LP models for planning, scheduling and optimization.
• Leads model governance, standards, documentation and change management.
• Calibrates kinetic equations and unit representations in refinery optimization models.
• Collects and validates plant data with engineering and technical teams.
• Translates process behavior and constraints into LP formulations.
• Governs AVEVA USC models to support integrated planning and value chain optimization.
• Performs model reconciliation with actual plant performance and improves accuracy.
