Job summary

PBF Energy is seeking an LP Modeler to join the LP Modeling Team. The role is onsite at our Parsippany, NJ headquarters or at refinery locations. You will maintain and enhance refinery LP models, support case setups, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive optimization.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in engineering and 5+ years in refinery engineering/economics/planning, with strong analytical and communication skills. Travel ~5% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in refinery process engineering, economics, or planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel (~5%).
• Experience with LP modeling tools such as PIMS or GRTMPS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, validate, and enhance refinery LP models for accuracy and reliability.
• Manage modeling worklist for assigned refinery sites and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Lead backcasting to compare LP predictions with actual unit performance.
• Support LP users with case setup, troubleshooting, and result interpretation.
• Develop and improve input/output interfaces and data workflows for LP models.
• Collaborate with refinery and corporate teams to implement model improvements.
• Continuously build expertise in LP modeling and refining processes.
