Job summary

American Sugar Refining, Inc. in Baltimore, MD seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to direct and coordinate maintenance operations for refinery equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, incident analysis, and vendor coordination.

Requires 5+ years in maintenance, 3+ years in supervision, and strong knowledge of mechanical systems, NDT, vibration and oil analysis. Proficiency with SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

Five plus years related experience required.
Three years of maintenance supervisory experience preferred.
Must be familiar with NDT methods and be able to interpret vibration and oil analysis reports.
Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office are required.
Scheduling, planning, and SAP or similar inventory and PM program is a plus but not required.
Some CMMS platform (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar) is required.

Responsibilities

Directs the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness throughout the facility.
Overseeing incident reporting and root cause analysis to improve safety and reliability.
Takes corrective action to reduce safety risks and maintenance problems to maximize equipment availability.
Review, approve, and schedule maintenance work orders and inspect progress for accuracy.
Coordinate daily maintenance work to maximize equipment up-time with available resources.
Direct maintenance personnel to achieve continuous operation and maximize repair efficiency.
Monitor maintenance tasks to ensure quality and GMP compliance.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and track records.
Interface with outside vendors for equipment parts purchases and proposals.
Review costs and minimize unnecessary spending on supplies and parts.
Supervise special maintenance projects and assist with documentation, training, and drawings.
Ensure all areas and equipment are kept in good housekeeping condition.
Review time cards for accuracy and conduct safety meetings.
Support reliability planning and outage work as needed.
