Job summary

American Sugar Refining is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and oversee electrical systems for refining operations in our Baltimore facility. You will troubleshoot process equipment, improve reliability, and drive plant upgrades.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, and strong knowledge of AutoCAD and control systems. Occasional overtime and minimal travel may be required to support projects.

Qualifications

BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
At least 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and instrumentation in a manufacturing facility.
Experience with electrical generation and distribution for power and process plants.
Experience supervising skilled personnel.
Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test electrical distribution systems, load centers, etc.
Perform electrical studies (load‑flow, short‑circuit, coordination, etc.) and specify electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, motors, VFD's, MCCs, etc.).
Identify, analyze and address plant system needs; prepare drawings and specifications.
Manage project schedules and budgets, and obtain permits for operations.
Ensure compliance with safety requirements and standards procedures.
Work with purchasing to prepare requests for proposals and evaluate bids.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and health & safety teams.
Advise on code compliance.
Lead and advise the work of contractors.
Additional duties as assigned.
