Job summary

Motiva Enterprises LLC's Port Arthur Refinery is seeking skilled Instrument Technicians to support safe, reliable operations by installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing process instrumentation equipment. This DOT-regulated position requires adherence to safety and testing guidelines and will partner with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education plus 3+ years as an Instrument Technician, or an Associate’s degree/certification in Instrumentation or Analyzer Technology.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must currently hold or be able to qualify to receive a TWIC Card.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair process instrumentation including pressure, temperature, level, and flow devices.
• Maintain, configure, and repair electronic transmitters, analyzers, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair control valves, actuators, regulators, and switching valves.
• Diagnose and repair safety shutdown and emergency control systems.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on refinery instrumentation equipment.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Document maintenance activities and update equipment records using computerized maintenance systems.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve reliability and performance issues.
• Support equipment commissioning, turnarounds, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and operational procedures while performing maintenance activities.
