Job summary

Motiva Enterprises LLC’s Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex is seeking skilled Instrument Technicians to support safe, reliable refinery operations by installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation equipment. This DOT-regulated role requires a TWIC card and willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years as Instrument Technician or an Associate’s degree/certification in Instrumentation or Analyzer Technology, plus a valid

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as Instrument Technician or an Associate’s degree/certification in Instrumentation or Analyzer Technology.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, level, flow).
• Maintain, configure, and repair transmitters, analyzers, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair control valves, actuators, regulators, and switching valves.
• Diagnose and repair safety shutdown and emergency control systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on refinery instrumentation.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specs.
• Document maintenance activities and update equipment records.
• Support commissioning, turnarounds, and continuous improvement initiatives.
