Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Canton, Ohio, is seeking a Project Engineer II/III focused on Electrical & Instrumentation to support refinery processes and operations. You’ll manage small capital and expense projects, provide technical engineering guidance, and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to optimize assets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least two years of industry experience; a degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• Two (2) years or more of industry experience is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Familiarity with Smart Instrumentation (SI) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise within the engineering department for capital & expense projects.
• Define scope, develop estimates, schedule activities, and secure funding.
• Support operations teams and troubleshoot electrical/instrumentation issues.
• Apply project management skills from conception to closeout.
• Coordinate work with designers and outside contractors.
• Provide field construction support and final installation sign-off.
