Job summary

Big West Oil LLC in North Salt Lake, UT is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to own controls projects that improve refinery performance. You will troubleshoot, design, implement, document, and start up control solutions with safety and environmental responsibility in mind.

Join a high-performing team at a 35,000 bpd facility, collaborating with vendors, leading incident investigations, and supporting turnarounds with robust DCS engineering knowledge and ISA/Rockwell experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Electrical or Systems).
5+ years of experience in process/control systems engineering.
Proficiency with Rockwell RSLogix 5000/Studio, ladder logic, PlantPAX, FactoryTalk Historian and AssetCentre.
Experience with AADvance safety control systems and Workbench software.
Familiarity with ProSoft Modbus/Modbus TCP and ISA S84 compliance.

Responsibilities

Monitor unit performance and provide support for operator questions.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues on controls systems.
Lead/participate in projects from design through on-site start-up and maintenance.
Create and maintain control system documentation.
Lead or participate in incident investigations and implement recommendations.
Ensure MOCs, PSSR and training are completed for process changes.
Provide DCS engineering support for turnaround maintenance/projects.
