Job summary

SouthCoast Health in Savannah, GA is seeking a Referrals Specialist to join our Family Practice/ Internal Medicine department at 330 Benfield Drive. This full-time, on-site role involves coordinating referral orders with clinical staff and scheduling timely appointments.

You will handle daily tasks, run QA reports, and maintain clear communication with the care team while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient privacy throughout the referral process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a medical office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinic policies related to referrals.

Responsibilities

• Obtain referral orders/information from clinical staff or providers.
• Schedule referral appointments within 2-3 business days and document notes.
• Run tracking reports weekly/monthly to meet QA goals.
• Maintain communication with clinical staff regarding no-shows or refused appointments.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations.

Referrals Specialist (Full Time)
Department: Family Practice/ Internal Medicine
Location: 330 Benfield Drive, Savannah, GA

Qualifications :

• Ability to exercise professionalism in dealing with all levels of personnel, patients and patients' families.
  
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work cooperatively as member of the medical office's team.
• Ability to respond to stressful/emergency situations in a calm and effective manner.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures related to referrals.

Responsibilities:

• Works in conjunction with the department to ensure daily and monthly tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
  
• Obtain referral orders/information from clinical staff or providers.
• Schedule referral appointments within 2-3 business days for appointments and document necessary notes.
• Run tracking reports weekly/monthly to ensure that Quality Assurance goals are met.
• Maintain communication with clinical staff for no shows/refusal appointments.
• Performs or assists with other special projects as assigned by Supervisor.
• Complies with all HIPAA regulations.

Education/ Experience :

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience in medical office. Computer experience.
