Job summary

SOUTHCOAST HEALTH is seeking an experienced Referrals Specialist for our Cardiology Department to provide care coordination for assigned patients and act as liaison between SOUTHCOAST HEALTH and community providers.

Responsibilities include obtaining referral information, scheduling appointments within 2-3 business days, running QA tracking, and maintaining HIPAA compliance while supporting clinical staff with efficient communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience in a medical office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures related to referrals.
• Clear and concise communication.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a medical office team.
• Calm response to stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Works with department to complete daily and monthly tasks timely.
• Obtain referral orders/information from clinical staff or providers.
• Schedule referral appointments within 2-3 business days and document notes.
• Run tracking reports weekly/monthly to meet Quality Assurance goals.
• Maintain communication with clinical staff regarding no-shows/refusals.
• Assist with special projects as assigned by Supervisor.
• Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
