Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Inc. is seeking a Referral Representative I in Houston, TX. The role entails handling referral testing processes, resolving complex customer issues, and acting as a liaison between clients and referral vendors. It requires standard laboratory exposure and strong attention to detail.

The position involves retrieving and processing specimens, ensuring sample quality, and communicating test results with clients. Local shift schedule is Monday–Friday, with possible weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one to two years of clinical laboratory experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, resolve and follow up with complex customer issues and act as liaison between internal and external customers and referral vendors.
• Retrieve, sort and process specimens for shipment to referral laboratories.
• Ensure sample quality and accuracy; identify problems with specimen types, missing information, incorrect temperature, quantity not sufficient, etc.
• Prepare specimens and packages for shipment according to IATA regulations.
• Handle all customer inquiries regarding reporting of results, service failures and other quality issues to provide customer satisfaction.
• Report laboratory results using established protocols; contact clients to resolve routine or medical/technical matters.
