Mirasol Family Health Center in Hermiston, OR is seeking a Referral Specialist to manage referral activity, assist with patient referrals, and coordinate follow-up with providers.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, bilingual English/Spanish at ALTA level 9, and prior front-office experience; the team offers competitive pay, full benefits including health insurance, and opportunities for career growth.

• Associates Degree or Certificate from an accredited technical school preferred.
• One year of office experience in a medical or dental setting.
• Two years of medical/dental front office experience with insurance referrals and authorizations preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required at ALTA score level 9.

Responsabilidades

• Manages work queues regarding referral activity daily for timely processing.
• Assists with patient referrals to internal/external facilities for needed services.
• Assists with patient insurance authorization.
• Assists with appointment setup as needed.
• Coordinates follow-up between referral source and patient.
• Ensures chart notes and follow-up documentation are linked to referrals.
• Provides translated educational materials and directions to patients when needed.
• Handles incoming correspondence and responds to calls, emails, and faxes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Highlights

• 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
• $19.87-$24.35/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates

What You’ll Do

• Manages work queues regarding referral activity on a daily basis to ensure timely processing and/or completion
• Assists with patient referrals for additional services needed with internal and external medical facilities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Associates Degree or Certificate from an accredited technical school preferred
• One year's experience working in an office setting, preferably a medical or dental office
• Two year's experience working in a medical and/or dental front office setting, with insurance referrals and authorizations preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at a level 9
• This position is eligible for Bilingual Differential Compensation when an ALTA score of 9 is achieved.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn medical terminology required
• Ability to prioritize work, handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, and complete projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
