Riverwood Healthcare Center is seeking a Referral Specialist in Aitkin, MN. This full-time role coordinates patient referrals and appointment requests to support high-quality patient care and satisfaction, acting as a key liaison among patients, providers, insurers, and external facilities.

The position requires a high school diploma, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred).

Salary Range: $19.29 To $23.34 Hourly

About the Position:

The Referrals Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing patient referrals and appointment requests to ensure a seamless and efficient process that supports patient care and satisfaction. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between patients, providers, insurance companies, and external healthcare facilities, ensuring timely and accurate referral processing.

What we are looking for:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in patient access, medical office administration, or a related healthcare role is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
• Proficiency in using EHR systems (Epic experience preferred).
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and external partners.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
