Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a primary care or medical office setting preferred.
• Experience with referrals, insurance authorizations, or specialty scheduling is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers.
• Process and track referrals to ensure patients receive timely care.
• Obtain and verify required referral information and documentation.
• Communicate with insurance companies and specialty offices regarding referrals and authorizations.
• Follow up on pending referrals and authorizations.
• Communicate referral information and appointment details to patients.
• Maintain accurate referral records and documentation.
• Work closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure referrals are completed appropriately.
• Assist with obtaining medical records, reports, and other information from outside providers.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures.
• Enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
