Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Referral Coordinator to process referral requests for providers within the clinic module and to obtain referrals/authorizations when needed. You will coordinate scheduling, document information, and ensure payer compliance.

Responsibilities include completing training, staying current on policies, and communicating with providers, payers, staff and patients to deliver high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in diagnosis and procedural coding preferred.
• 2 years experience in the field or related area required.
• 2 years experience in customer service required.
• 2 years experience with third party payers using common concepts and procedures required.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals for services requested by providers within established guidelines.
• Obtain authorizations for referrals and schedule appointments within required timeframes.
• Coordinate appointment date, time and location with patients.
• Process requests for additional referrals/authorizations when requested by providers.
• Ensure referrals are maintained within appropriate network or payer requirements.
• Communicate with stakeholders, staff, providers, payers and patients as appropriate.
• Document required information into the appropriate systems.
• Provide a standard of excellence in customer service for patients, staff and other customers.
