Job summary

The ideal candidate has minimum healthcare front desk experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with referral processes and authorization requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of Front Desk experience in healthcare.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Knowledge of Referral and Authorization Processes.
• Understanding of healthcare referral workflows and payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for scheduling referred appointments and services within USF Health.
• Screen, process, and track internal and external referrals for timeliness.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to schedule timely, appropriate appointments.
• Obtain required authorizations for visits, procedures, and medications.
• Investigate incomplete referrals and follow up for accurate processing.
• Respond to messages related to patient referrals to support scheduling.
• Maintain organized filing for referral documents and records.
• Route appointment and referral information using electronic systems or calls.
• Answer and direct calls to ensure efficient communication.
