Job summary

QuarterLine is seeking a Referral Management Center Specialist to support healthcare teams at a Military Treatment Facility. You will handle referral questions, review and process referrals, and schedule appointments with attention to timeliness and patient confidentiality.

The role requires medical terminology knowledge, at least 1 year of medical office admin experience, and strong EHR skills. No relocation, on-site work at the MTF.

Qualifications

• US citizen (proof of eligibility required).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• At least 1 year of administrative experience in a medical setting.
• Proficient computer skills to support EHR workflow.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Ability to obtain background clearance and system access.
• Current Basic Life Support certification and HIPAA training as required.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and assist patients and staff with referral questions.

Overview

QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Referral Management Center Specialist to support our healthcare team at a Military Treatment Facility (MTF). The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
• Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
• Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
• Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within establishedtimeframes.
• Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
• Maintainaccuratereferral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.
• Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service whilemaintainingpatient confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements

• US Citizen.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• One (1) year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred.
• Demonstrated computerproficiencyand keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Ability to obtain andmaintaina favorable background investigation, a Common Access Card, and MTF-specific badge and system access.
• Current Basic Life Support certification(AHA or Red Cross)where required by the supported MTF, plus HIPAA, Privacy Act, information assurance, and MTF-directed initial and annual training.
