Job summary

QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a Referral Management Center Specialist to support the healthcare team at a Military Treatment Facility. You will answer calls, coordinate referrals, and educate patients on processes and timelines.

The role requires 1 year of medical admin experience, strong EHR skills with MHS GENESIS, and a commitment to patient confidentiality. This is a full-time on-site position with DHA compliance and background checks.

Qualifications

• US Citizen.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year admin experience in a medical setting; referrals/scheduling/insurance preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and keyboarding for EHR workflow.
• Read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation, a CAC badge and system access.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross) and HIPAA training.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and assist patients and staff with referral questions.

Overview

QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Referral Management Center Specialist to support our healthcare team at a Military Treatment Facility (MTF). The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
• Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
• Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
• Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes.
• Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
• Maintain accurate referral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.
• Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements

• US Citizen.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• One (1) year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency and keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation, a Common Access Card, and MTF-specific badge and system access.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross) where required by the supported MTF, plus HIPAA, Privacy Act, information assurance, and MTF-directed initial and annual training.
