Job summary

Resolution Think LLC. is seeking a Referral Clerk to support our healthcare team with patient referrals and appointment coordination at a medical facility in Austin,TX.

The role focuses on delivering professional customer service while ensuring referrals are accurate and timely. You will review referrals, schedule specialty appointments, maintain documentation in MHS GENESIS, and educate patients on procedures while upholding HIPAA and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• US Citizen
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• One year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency and keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation, a Common Access Card, and MTF-specific badge and system access.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross) where required by the supported MTF, plus HIPAA, Privacy Act, information assurance, and MTF-directed initial and annual training

Responsibilities

Key Duties:

• Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
• Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
• Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
• Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes.
• Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
