Job summary

Poppy Bank seeks an organized Referral Coordinator to manage referral operations across assigned clinics in Phoenix. You will coordinate with patients, physicians, and insurers to verify eligibility and benefits, while ensuring timely referrals and proper documentation.

The role requires strong customer service, HIPAA awareness, and experience with medical records systems. This on-site position supports multiple departments and maintains accurate charting in ECW.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of pre-authorization or insurance verification experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs and PPOs.
• HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments with patients, physicians, and medical staff and insurance portals.
• Coordinate with insurance companies to verify eligibility, coverage criteria, and benefits.
• Coordinate referrals and complete patient assessments.
• Coordinate and provide in-services for referral sources.
• Expedite patient referrals to specialty offices.
• Complete referral requests as needed.
• Fax and send medical records to departments for processing.
• Monitor external relationships with other facilities and public relations activities.
