Qualifications

• Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) in Idaho.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications preferred.
• Experience with mental health, substance use, justice-involved populations preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel throughout the service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide Peer Support services to adults with mental health, behavioral health, and reintegration needs.
• Complete assessments and assist clients in identifying strengths, barriers, goals, and support needs.
• Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with clients and their support systems.
• Reinforce independent living skills, coping skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and community integration strategies.
• Support clients in reducing barriers that contribute to instability and recidivism.
• Collaborate with probation and parole officers, treatment providers, employers, housing agencies, and other community partners.
• Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed to support successful outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with Medicaid and agency standards.
• Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for the individuals you support.
• Provide emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to help individuals develop coping skills and resilience during addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals, assisting them in navigating systems such as mental health services, substance abuse treatment programs, housing, and employment.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in peer support services.
