Job summary

Endeavors in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Peer Support Specialist to assist clients recovering from alcohol or substance use disorders. The role uses lived experience to support goal setting, recovery planning and connecting clients with community resources.

The PSS collaborates with clinicians, participates in team decisions, and helps clients build self-advocacy, housing stability and employment skills. In-person work with flexible hours includes evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• State Approved Peer Support Specialist certification.
• 3+ years administrative/clerical experience; 2+ social service and/or non-profit experience preferred.
• Must maintain regular attendance as determined by employer.
• Driver's License with clear record.
• In-Person work location required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Clinical Director and participate in the multi-disciplinary team approach to client care.
• Using a formal goal setting process, assist clients in articulating personal goals for recovery.
• Assist clients in working with their support teams to determine steps for recovery and self-directed goals.
• Help establish and sustain self-help groups and connect clients with existing groups.
• Utilize Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to create personal wellness and recovery plans.
• Demonstrate coping techniques and foster self-help strategies within individuals and groups.
• Support clients' vocational choices and help them pursue suitable job opportunities.
• Assist clients in developing social skills to improve community integration and employment.
