Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration Technician to perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel reefer systems and to lead preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years of hands-on experience, TK/Carrier certifications, EPA 608/609, and must supply their own tools and a valid driver’s license. This onsite role offers growth through training and safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of hands-on experience as Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician
  • TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications required
  • EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) & EPA 609 Certifications
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools
  • Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete repairs on diesel reefer equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance per manufacturer standards
  • Mentor other maintenance shop personnel
  • Receive road calls, coordinate with third party vendors and plan actions
  • Document repairs and parts used in fleet maintenance software on a tablet
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety regulations
  • Willingness to assume increased responsibility and certifications
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Pay range $37 - $45 hour based on certifications and experience.

BASIC PURPOSE : To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.).
  • Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.
  • Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
  • Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
  • Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
  • Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician. TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
  • Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.
  • Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) & EPA 609 Certifications
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA & DOT regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
  • Computer and software experience/ Noregon Diag Equip/A/C Recovery, Etc.
  • Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.
  • Welding ability
  • Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Onsite : The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.

Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

Stairs) 3 (Grasp Objects: Hand truck, boxes, cartons, steering wheel) 4 (Manipulate Objects: Boxes, dolly, metal truck ramp, hand truck, paperwork, truck gate, straps) 5 (Manual Dexterity: Typing, use of office machines such as copiers, printers)

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $35 and $45 This role may also receive overtime compensation where applicable.
