Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC Kenworth) is seeking a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs under supervision. You will gain experience on engines, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions, and cooling systems while advancing toward Service Journeyman status.

Typical duties include troubleshooting, maintaining tools and workspace, and attending training sessions. CDL is preferred; certifications and proper safety practices are required.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform and/or assist in general mechanical duties.
• Work on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Troubleshoot minor problems.
• Attend training sessions and meetings.
• Maintain a neat and orderly workspace and proper handling of tools.
• Advise the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follow safe work practices and seek assistance when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
