Job summary

Alper JCC Miami is seeking a dedicated Water Safety Instructor to teach swim across all ages, focusing on safety, skill development, and seasonal planning. The role includes daily workouts, goal setting, and promoting competitive swim and team objectives.

The instructor will enforce pool rules, conduct lessons and workouts, and maintain records while communicating progress to participants and parents. The work environment is pool-based and physically demanding.

Qualifications

• ARC Water Safety Instructor certification is required.
• ARC CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required.
• Lifeguard Training and First Aid are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of swim team/lesson participants and perform lifesaving or first aid as needed.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations for participants and spectators.
• Provide for health and safety, ensuring teaching areas are hazard-free and equipment is safe.
• Conduct swim team workouts and instruction to develop swimming skills.
• Communicate progress with participants and parents regularly.
• Complete clerical duties: respond to inquiries, create workouts, take attendance, assist with meet entries.
• Operate pool, office, and coaching equipment, including computers and software.
• Complete records and reports and participate in training sessions.
