Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic arithmetic and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of duties, including standing for extended periods and operating equipment.
• Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information.
• Ability to operate assigned equipment.
• Ability to make sound decisions in job functions.

Responsibilities

• Accepts electronics from the public, separates, processes, and prepares items for transportation, with packing lists.
• Accepts tires from residents and businesses per NC statutes and County policy.
• Accepts comingled recycling from the public.
• Tends the collection facility office and determines residency, load volume, and charges.
• Issues receipts and accounts for money received.
• Maintains daily records for revenues, traffic and disposal volumes.
• Provides general information to the public and directs traffic to the disposal site.
• Conducts inspections of materials for dumping restrictions or fire hazards.
• Sets up and repairs protective fencing for property and recycling materials.
