Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Stationary Equipment Technician to repair and maintain recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment and light trucks to maximize safe and productive operations.

The role includes diagnosing mechanical problems, replacing parts with hand tools, reading vehicle condition reports, and documenting work orders and parts usage in the Fleet Management System. Candidates should have 1 year of related maintenance or trade school certification and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related equipment maintenance and repair.
• PLC troubleshooting and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
• Experience with conveyors and manufacturing environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Mechanical or trade school certificate.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software and manuals.
• Repairs and maintains recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment and light trucks.
• Replaces worn parts using hand tools.
• Reads vehicle condition reports and repair orders; communicates with supervisor.
• Records parts usage and work order times.
• Completes daily consumables report for Fleet Management system.
