Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to repair and maintain heavy equipment, compact machinery, light service equipment, and trucks. The role covers diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and safety-compliant repairs on diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and emissions systems.

The ideal candidate has ASE certification, 1 year plus experience with heavy equipment, and a mechanical trade certificate or degree.

Qualifications

• ASE Certification evidence of advanced knowledge in braking, drive train, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Minimum 1 year of experience servicing heavy equipment and related vehicles.
• Trade school certification or degree in mechanical maintenance or similar.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment and related vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Document parts usage, hours and repair activities in work orders and Fleet software.
