Job summary

Republic Services in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Recycling Center Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain recycling equipment, heavy machinery, and light trucks, ensuring safe, productive operations.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventive maintenance, PLC programming, and electrical/plumbing work when needed, using field reports to track hours and parts. Safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of building maintenance, HVAC, odor systems and negative pressure systems.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working on equipment in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Working knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems.
• Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience.
• PLC Programming experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Mechanical or trade school certificate.
• Certificate in electronic diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems using diagnostic software and manuals.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment and heavy vehicles.
• Overhauls or replaces machine components and worn items.
• Completes field service reports in a work order system.
• Independently troubleshoot electromechanical equipment.
• Conducts preventative maintenance according to standard schedules.
• Reads, troubleshoots and programs simple PLC instructions.
• Communicates with supervisor or operators for clarification.
