Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Stationary Equipment Technician to repair and maintain recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, and light trucks. The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs on hydraulic and electric systems, conveyors, and rolling stock, and ensuring accurate paperwork and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of related equipment maintenance and repair or trade school certification.
• 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software and manuals.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment, heavy equipment and light trucks to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Replaces pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings using mechanic's hand tools.
• Reads and interprets repair orders and communicates with supervisor for clarification of problems.
• Completes paperwork for parts usage and times (work orders vs times).
• Completes daily consumables report for hours, fuel and oil usage for input in Fleet Management System.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Performs repairs on rolling stock (forklifts, skid steers, trailers, front loaders).
