Remote and field-based within your territory | Municipal water and wastewater O&M
Persuading a city to outsource the running of its utility is rarely won in a single meeting. It can take three years, a sceptical finance committee, a labour group and an elected board before anyone signs.
It helps when you can offer something nobody else can.
You'll join a private equity‑backed water infrastructure business that already runs hundreds of water and wastewater systems across the US. Following a recent merger, it's the only company in the sector able to deliver engineering, rehabilitation and full O‑M through one accountable team.
Revenue has roughly quadrupled in six years, and it's still growing.
You'll lead recurring‑revenue growth across a defined territory, owning first‑time outsourcing conversions, O‑M renewals and expansions, and competitive takeaways from incumbent operators. You'll take each one from first conversation to contract award, transition and renewal.
This is executive‑level, consultative selling. You'll guide mayors, city managers, utility directors and CFOs through one of the biggest decisions they'll make. That means understanding their rate model, staffing, pension exposure and capital versus operating trade‑offs, then building a business case that stands up to public scrutiny.
The best people in this role are seen as the ones who take the risk out of a big decision.
You'll nurture relationships for 18 to 36 months, build internal champions, handle the politics of outsourcing and time each pursuit around budget cycles, rate cases and contract expirations.
Operating leaders, transition planners, finance and senior sponsors will support you, while the relationship stays yours.
And the growth isn't just the company's. Roles evolve quickly here, new leadership positions keep appearing, and high performers can be selected for an established leadership programme run with a world‑leading business school.
You'll bring 10 to 15 years' B2G experience selling multi‑year services, outsourcing or operations contracts into municipal water and wastewater or similar public infrastructure. You'll have closed multi‑year, multi‑million‑dollar contracts, including at least one first‑time outsourcing conversion or incumbent displacement.
