Job summary

Staffmark Group in Alabaster, AL is seeking a Recruiting Assistant to act as the first contact for candidates, employees, and clients. You will manage inquiries, support payroll questions, source and screen candidates, and schedule interviews across a fast‑paced environment.

You will maintain ATS records, assist with onboarding, and help recruiters with pipelines to fill roles promptly. A strong focus on communication, organization, and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in customer service, admin support, staffing, or recruiting preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and able to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong organizational, multitasking and time management abilities.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills; fast-paced environment fit.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for candidates, employees, and clients via phone, email, and in-person inquiries.
• Provide high-quality customer service support for payroll questions, assignments, attendance, and employment concerns.
• Source, screen, and identify qualified candidates using job boards, social media, referrals, and internal systems.
• Conduct initial phone interviews and schedule candidate interviews and hiring events.
• Maintain and update candidate and employee records in the ATS.
• Support recruiters with pipeline management and filling open positions quickly and efficiently.
• Assist with onboarding paperwork, employment verification, and new hire documentation.
• Process administrative tasks, including reports, spreadsheets, time-card review, and filing.
