Job summary

Service Corporation International in Florida seeks an experienced Recruiter to support full life-cycle recruiting across corporate positions. You will partner with hiring managers, source candidates, screen applicants, and manage background checks and related relocation issues.

The role emphasizes compliance, brand promotion, and timely hiring while maintaining strong candidate experiences. On-site in Plantation, FL with local travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
• Three years of full life-cycle recruiting experience with entry level and mid-level openings.
• Knowledge of employment laws as they apply to hiring processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish relationships quickly and work under pressure with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Develops knowledge of candidate groups to target recruiting efforts cost effectively.
• Partners with hiring managers to identify appropriate recruiting strategies for openings.
• Educates hiring managers on hiring trends, labor market data, and best practices in recruiting and retention methods.
• Screens candidates using telephone screens, interviews, assessment tools, etc.
• Maintains applicant and candidate workflow within the Applicant Tracking System.
• Identifies avenues to promote the SCI employment brand.
• Provides relevant metrics and reports to highlight recruiting activity.
• Assists with researching and developing new sourcing methods and strategies.
• Recruits for higher level jobs within the organization.

Supports the full recruiting lifecycle including sourcing, advertising, screening, testing, interviewing, profiling, reference checks, assisting with background checks, and relocation issues as require for corporate positions at various levels. Utilizes progressive recruiting techniques and maintains a high level of commitment, compliance and consistency to the overall recruiting process as well as communications with hiring managers and candidates. Serves as primary ambassador to promote the SCI employment brand and may attend various local and regional events to promote the brand.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Support

• Develops knowledge of customer groups to effectively target recruitment efforts in a cost effective and efficient manner.
• Partners with hiring managers to identify appropriate recruiting strategies for current and future openings.
• Educates hiring managers on current hiring trends, labor market data, and best practices in recruiting and retention methods.
• Assists managers on hiring trends and recruitment tools.
• Works with higher level hiring managers.

Recruiting

• Coordinates recruitment functions, including job and career fairs as required.
• Uses various resources to source qualified diverse candidates, including internet, intranet, media, schools, community recruitment, networking, etc.
• Screens candidates using telephone screens, interviews, assessment tools, etc.
• Maintains applicant and candidate workflow within the Applicant Tracking System.
• Identifies avenues to positively promote the SCI employment brand.
• Provides relevant metrics and reports as requested to highlight recruiting activity on an ongoing basis.
• Assists with the research and development of new sourcing methods and strategies.
• Recruits for higher level jobs within the organization.

Educational/Experience/Minimum Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field

Experience:

• Three (3) years of full life-cycle recruiting and interviewing experience with entry level and mid-level openings

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Basic understanding of employment laws as they apply to the hiring process
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to establish relationships quickly and easily
• Ability to work well under pressure with excellent time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Must be task-oriented and be able to consistently meet deadlines
• Highly self-motivated, able to work fairly autonomously with general direction

• Work indoors during all seasons and weather conditions
• Limited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling required
• Professional Dress is required when in contact with families.
