Job summary

Atlantic Emergency Solutions in Yorktown, VA is seeking a Recruiter to manage candidates through the full hiring process and build strong pipelines. This in-office role supports multiple locations and travels to career fairs as needed.

You will partner with hiring managers, communicate with applicants, and ensure timely recruitment activities. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (associate or bachelor’s preferred), recruiting/HR experience, ATS/paylocity familiarity, and strong

• Willingness to travel and pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Manage candidates through the recruiting, interview, offer, and onboarding process.
• Coordinate with hiring managers and maintain consistent candidate communication.
• Respond to recruiting calls and candidate questions.
• Monitor open positions and adjust recruiting strategies when needed.
• Proactively source candidates through Indeed, job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
• Develop talent pipelines and maintain relationships with qualified potential candidates.
• Build recruiting relationships with schools, workforce organizations, military programs, career centers, and other community resources.
• Attend career fairs, recruiting events, and travel to support difficult-to-fill locations.
• Research local job markets and identify new recruiting resources.
• Maintain accurate ATS records and track recruiting activity and results.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.

Description

At Atlantic Emergency Solutions, our Recruiter plays a key role in helping us find and hire talented employees who support first responders throughout our organization. This position manages candidates through the recruiting and hiring process while also actively identifying new ways to reach qualified candidates. The Recruiter will build relationships, develop candidate pipelines, and help ensure applicants receive consistent communication throughout the process.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.


• No rotating shifts


• Paid holidays (no waiting period)

Work Environment:

• In office, Yorktown, VA


• Primarily an office environment with travel to career fairs, recruiting events, and company locations as needed


• Collaborative team environment supporting multiple locations and hiring managers

Key Job Duties:

• Managing candidates through the recruiting, interview, offer, and onboarding process

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred


• Previous recruiting or Human Resources experience preferred


• Experience with applicant tracking systems, preferably Paylocity, and recruiting platforms such as Indeed


• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills


• Ability to work independently while managing multiple openings, candidates, and deadlines


• Ability to build professional relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and recruiting resources


• Ability to travel as needed and pass pre-employment screening

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
