Job summary

HANSTAFF is seeking a Recreational Therapist for our client facility in California. This contract position offers full-time hours, a W2 arrangement, and a competitive pay rate of $58 per hour. Shifts can include 8 or 12 hour options, with some weekends required, in Mental Health OT settings.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, reviewing medical records, documenting progress, and delivering targeted therapeutic programs. CPR certification and 1 year of recent experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 36 months (3yrs) as a Recreational Therapist.
• Ability to build rapport with patients.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association).
• Certificates accepted from NCTRC or CBPRC in California.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs.
• Consider medical records.
• Conversation with patient and loved ones to inform treatment.
• Execute a therapeutic program tailored to patient needs.
• Keep current on communal and therapeutic resources to assist patients.
• Document patient progress during activities.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Details

• Full Time Schedules
• Some weekends may be required
• 8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility
• Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)
• Area: Mental Health OT-8HR Class: RECT Shift: Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm (30) or Tues-Friday 7am-5:30pm (30)

Duties

• Assess patient needs
• Consider medical records
• Personal observation and talks with the patient and his or her loved ones
• Execute a therapeutic program targeted toward what that patient requires most
• Keep current on communal and therapeutic resources available to best help the patients
• Document a patient's progress during their activities
• Other duties assigned my supervisor

Requirements
