The Enclave at Port Chester is seeking a dedicated Recreation Aide to join our rehabilitation team. The role supports recreation therapy, transports residents to programs, and assists with on/off-unit activities and trips.

Applicants should be energetic, compassionate, and able to work with elderly residents. Prior experience in geriatric settings is preferred; strong teamwork and computer literacy are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Energetic, enthusiastic, creative and team-oriented.
• Preferably 1+ years experience with geriatric/adult population.
• Compassionate, outgoing personality.
• Computer literate with good organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Complies with facility policies and therapy department codes.
• Documents resident attendance/participation daily.
• Maintain care and use of program equipment and materials.
• Conduct therapeutic activities on and off-unit as scheduled.
• Attend resident trips outside the facility as assigned.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation.

Pay Range: up to $18.00 an hour

Job Overview

The Recreation Therapist will implement a variety of group activities and programs based on Resident’s individual abilities and preference to encourage and promote Resident participation. Successful Candidate must be compassionate, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic with the desire to enhance the quality of life of residents. Candidate must also have good interpersonal skills, and assists alongside recreation therapist in the Department. Job entails transporting residents to and from programs, running some programs, 1:1 visits and attending trips, assisting with transport to and from off unit programs and other activities related to recreation therapy.

Qualifications

• Energetic, extremely enthusiastic, creative, takes initiative, works well with a team, enjoys working with elderly people.
• Preferably 1+ years experience working in a geriatric/adult population.
• Must be a team player with a compassionate, outgoing, and pleasant personality.
• Must be computer literate and possess strong organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Complies with and interprets the philosophy, objectives, procedures, policies and code of ethics of the facility and the policies of the Recreational Therapy Department.
• Documents Resident attendance/participation daily.
• Maintain care and use of program equipment and materials.
• Conduct therapeutic activities on and off-unit as scheduled.
• Attend Resident trips outside of the facility as per assignment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation.

Pay Range: up to $18.00 an hour
