Job summary

The Enclave at Port Chester is seeking a Recreation Aide to join our rehabilitation team. The role focuses on implementing group activities tailored to residents’ abilities to encourage participation, and assisting with transport to programs and trips.

Ideal candidates are energetic, compassionate, and enjoy working with older adults, with a strong sense of teamwork and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and able to work with elderly residents.
• Preferably 1+ years of experience with geriatric/adult populations.
• Must be a team player with a compassionate, outgoing, and pleasant personality.
• Must be computer literate with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Complies with facility philosophy, objectives, procedures, policies and code of ethics.
• Documents resident attendance/participation daily.
• Maintain care and use of program equipment and materials.
• Conduct therapeutic activities on and off-unit as scheduled.
• Attend resident trips outside of the facility as per assignment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation.

Pay Range: up to $18.00 an hour

Job Overview

The Recreation Therapist will implement a variety of group activities and programs based on Resident’s individual abilities and preference to encourage and promote Resident participation. Successful Candidate must be compassionate, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic with the desire to enhance the quality of life of residents. Candidate must also have good interpersonal skills, and assists alongside recreation therapist in the Department. Job entails transporting residents to and from programs, running some programs, 1:1 visits and attending trips, assisting with transport to and from off unit programs and other activities related to recreation therapy.

Qualifications

• Energetic, extremely enthusiastic, creative, takes initiative, works well with a team, enjoys working with elderly people.
