The Department of Juvenile Justice in Georgia is seeking a part-time Recreation Worker for Muscogee YDC in Midland, GA. Under supervision, you will instruct clients in a program that includes practical and workforce readiness instruction.

Primary duties include adapting instructional methods, assessing needs, conducting classes and workshops, planning comprehensive recreational programs, and teaching life skills, decision-making, fitness, and social skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in area of assignment from an accredited college or university.
• One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Practical Instructor 1 (EDT010) or position equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Adapts instructional methods and materials to meet clients' varying needs, abilities, and interests.
• Assess student's education and adjustment needs through direct observation and testing.
• Conducts classes, workshops, and demonstrations in language skills, life skills, and workforce entry skills.
• Conducts recreational activities to teach decision-making, fitness, leisure options, and social skills.
• Counsels and instructs clients in daily living and work routines.
• Estimates materials needed for inventory and areas, including cost.
• Instructs residents through lectures and demonstrations of methods and techniques.
• Plans and coordinates a comprehensive recreational program for the facility population.
• Plans a program of practical instruction to meet individual and group needs.
• Repairs and adjusts equipment as needed.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, instructs or trains clients and/or students in a specific area of assignment as part of a program that includes an organized agenda of practical and workforce readiness instruction.
