Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center, a 118-bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center for children and adolescents, seeks a qualified Recreational Therapist in Alabama.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or related field and CTRS certification, with preferred experience in program development within an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or related field REQUIRED.
• Certification In Recreation Therapy (CTRS) REQUIRED.
• Preferred: One year of experience in program development and implementation of therapeutic recreation activities in an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

Responsibilities

• Work schedule: Mon-Thu 10:30a-7p, rotating Fridays from 10:30a-7p, rotating weekends Sat-Sun 8a-4p.

Responsibilities

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy; a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

This position is Mon-Thursday 10:30a-7p, rotating Fridays from 10:30a-7p, rotating weekends Sat-Sun 8a-4p.
