The City of Coronado is seeking a part-time Recreation Specialist (Media & Marketing) to support communications, marketing, and public outreach for the Recreation & Golf Services Department. Based at the Coronado Community Center, you will travel to facilities and events to capture photography and promote programs.
Hours are flexible and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position is temporary, part-time, and may not exceed 29 hours per week or 1,000 hours per fiscal year.

Recreation Specialist
The Recreation Specialist (Media & Marketing) supports the Recreation & Golf Services Department's communications, marketing, and public outreach efforts. This position is based at the Coronado Community Center but regularly travels to department facilities, parks, beaches, and special events to capture photography and promote recreation programs and services.
The work schedule is flexible and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to photograph programs and community events. This position is temporary, part-time, and may not exceed 29 hours per week or 1,000 hours per fiscal year.
The following tasks are typical for positions in this classification. Any single position may not perform all of these tasks and/or may perform similar related tasks not listed here:
At least three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in a specialized recreation program area.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in area of specialization, recreation, leisure studies or a related field.
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License with a safe driving record. Designated positions require the possession, or ability to obtain, a valid California Commercial Driver's license with Passenger Endorsement. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid first aid certificate. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid CPR certificate.

Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.
Incumbents are required to participate in assigned recreational activities which may include moderate to heavy lifting and standing, walking, or running for prolonged periods of time.
Vision sufficient to read printed documents, observe behavior of program participants, and operate assigned equipment.
Incumbents may be exposed to inclement weather conditions, may work at indoor or outdoor recreational facilities, and may travel from site to site.
Incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends. Incumbents may be required to travel outside City boundaries to attend meetings.
