Job summary

Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation is seeking a capable supervisor to plan, develop, organize, and evaluate a wide range of recreation programs across aquatics, athletics, youth enrichment, and community events. The role requires leadership of full-time, part-time, and volunteers, with budget administration responsibilities and a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Parks and Recreation Administration or related field.
• 6 years of direct experience may substitute for a 4-year degree; or a combination of education & experience may be considered.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in Parks and Recreation or related field; leadership preferred.
• CPR and AED certification required within three months of date of hire.
• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, supervises, trains, and appraises volunteer personnel and part-time personnel in the assigned areas.
• Develops and implements a diversified and comprehensive recreational program in assigned areas.
• Promotes assigned division activities and programs.
• Schedules classes, programs, facilities, and events.
• Evaluates activities through observation and surveys; determines needs for activities.
• Monitors marketing efforts to maximize exposure and collaborates with Marketing for large campaigns.
• Maintains website, social media, and event pages for assigned areas.
