Job summary

Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation seeks a Recreation Supervisor I to plan, supervise, and evaluate comprehensive recreation services across multiple divisions, including aquatics, athletics, youth enrichment, and events. You will recruit and train staff and volunteers, oversee budgets, and ensure safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes program development, scheduling, marketing collaboration, website maintenance, and coordination of contract service providers to deliver high-quality community

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Parks and Recreation Administration or related field; 6 years experience may substitute for degree.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Parks and Recreation or related field; leadership preferred.
• First aid, CPR and AED certification within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, supervise, train and appraise staff and volunteers; maintain payroll records.
• Develop and implement diversified recreation programs across divisions.
• Schedule classes, programs, facilities and events.
• Monitor marketing for facilities/programs; coordinate with Marketing.
• Maintain website and social media pages for assigned areas.
• Ensure equipment availability and inventory control; uphold safety and rules.
• Prepare budgets; analyze revenues, expenditures and attendance; ensure budget compliance.
• Coordinate volunteers and contract service providers for activities.
