Job summary

Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation seeks an Aquatics Supervisor to manage daily operations of indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities and supervise lifeguard and program staff. You will help develop programs for aquatic interests and oversee welcome desk and food/beverage operations.

The role requires leadership experience in parks and recreation, relevant certifications, and collaboration across departments to deliver high-quality services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Parks and Recreation Administration or related field.
• Experience in Parks and Recreation leadership preferred; substitution options exist.
• Basic first aid, CPR and AED certification within 3 months of hire.
• Lifeguard instructor certification required within 1 year of hire.
• WSI or related certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise volunteers, part-time staff, and contracted personnel.
• Assist with recruitment, training, supervision, and retention of aquatic staff.
• Oversee budgets for facilities and programs; assist in budget preparation.
• Monitor safety policies and risk management for aquatic facilities.
• Assist with marketing and public outreach for facility events and activities.
• Teach aquatic courses as necessary.
