Job summary

City of Kansas City Parks & Recreation Department – Recreation Division in Kansas City, MO seeks a full-time Recreation Program Coordinator to lead a diverse curriculum and oversee part-time staff, volunteers, and operations at Tony Aguirre Community Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related recreation experience required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• May require a valid State-issued driver’s license per City policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees development and implementation of a diversified curriculum for all ages and abilities.
• Supervises part-time staff and volunteers; monitors duties.
• Provides input to supervisor for employee performance evaluations.
• Acts as liaison with community agencies and organizations; conducts outreach to promote programs.
• Assists in program development, management, and administrative tasks (meetings, reports, expenditures, records).
• Maintains safety checks, facility upkeep, and inventory records; ensures compliance with policies.

Education
